Hypertension is more common as you age and the best way of countering it is to exercise regularly. Lowering your blood pressure will do a lot of good for your health so it is imperative that you do what you can to achieve it. Regular exercise such as running or walking is more effective than prescription medicine when it comes to hypertension.

Heart Ailments

The heart is a large muscle in the body and it requires exercise to become stronger and more effective. Regular running will allow the heart to become more effective in pumping blood throughout your body and the possibility of clotting or arteries being blocked are significantly lowered. This will prevent you from contracting heart diseases that are life threatening.

Depression

Regular exercise, even as basic as running or walking, can help fight off depression. It can boost the production of serotonin by the brain, which makes you happier. Another benefit of exercising when it comes to depression is that you will have a better perception of yourself as you see yourself improving physically. Your self esteem will be boosted and you will be happier as a result.
